Welcome to the newest Kazzan Ramen in The Heights, Houston, TX!

When we began this 3,000 sq. ft. tenant improvement project in April, the goal was clear: transform a run-down seafood restaurant into a stunning new Kazzan Ramen location. This is the first franchised location in the United States for this renowned Southeast Asian brand, marking an exciting milestone in their expansion.

In just 8 weeks, we completed a full gut and rebuild of the front-of-house area while refreshing the kitchen to meet the high standards of the brand. As the first franchised location in the United States (and the second location overall, after the corporate-owned Los Angeles store), this project carried immense importance and was performed for the master franchisee with rights over the entire state of Texas.

Throughout the build, we tackled numerous challenges, from poor existing conditions to design gaps, with agility and resourcefulness. Our team successfully value-engineered key elements, particularly within the electrical scope, saving time and money for our client without sacrificing quality.

The end result is a space that perfectly balances beauty and functionality. Highlights include custom ceiling tiles featuring traditional Japanese logos, intricate millwork painted with Japanese-inspired art, a show-stopping mural across the interior brick façade, a modern and inviting bar, and a massive neon sign explaining the meaning of “Kazzan.” Each detail is a testament to the thoughtful design and craftsmanship behind this project.
