Welcome to the first PJ’s Coffee in Huntsville, AL!

This 1,500 sq. ft. stand-alone project, completed in July, marked our first PJ’s Coffee build—and what a way to start! Despite numerous challenges stemming from the poor condition of the existing shell building, we transformed this space into a stunning and functional café that perfectly showcases the PJ’s Coffee concept.

Our clients, first-time franchisees, had been navigating the development process for nearly two years before bringing us on board. From day one, we provided creative solutions to save time and money. By leveraging much of the existing back-of-house finishes and equipment, we value-engineered the project to bring the base contract price down from over $500k—quoted by other contractors—to under $275k, all without compromising quality.

The project faced significant structural hurdles, including failing wooden elements and problematic HVAC systems slated to remain. Through quick thinking and resourcefulness, we devised a cost-effective fix for the failing structure, reducing what could have been a $90k change order to under $30k. While these issues caused some delays, our solutions allowed the project to remain within a 12-week timeline.

The standout feature of this PJ’s Coffee is its extensive millwork package, which required precise coordination to execute flawlessly. The result is a warm and inviting interior, complete with custom cabinetry and shelving that highlight the brand’s Southern charm. Complemented by stylish lighting fixtures, a comfortable lounge seating area, and modern finishes, this space invites guests to relax and enjoy the PJ’s experience.

Our clients were thrilled with the outcome, and we are proud to have delivered a project that exceeded their expectations while meeting their budgetary and timeline goals. This is just the beginning of what we hope will be a strong partnership with PJ’s Coffee and their franchisees!
